Even though the process of design may seem unstructured to many, there is a vast body of knowledge that has analyzed it to great lengths. In graduate school, I gravitated towards the literature of design theory because I was always fascinated by the idea of consolidating the design process. In a course called Advanced Design Theories, I created my own theory on conducting design and scaling it for manufacturing.
The concepts I outline in my paper have given me a solid framework to drive product design at Type A Machines.
